Job Description

1. Willing to work in 24*7*365 production environment.
2. Should have expertise in framing policies for Backups and implementation as per business requirement and disaster recovery.
3. Knowledge of recovery procedures including point-in-time recovery.
4. Setting up and operation of monitoring process using wherever applicable DBA tools and alert mechanisms.
5. Performance Trouble shooting issues (CPU and I/O).
6. Shell scripting to automate the database activities.
7. Performing latest upgrades (database level and Security level).
8. Performing Migration to the latest versions.
9. Patch installations
10. Installation, Configuration and L3 Troubleshooting expertise Sybase 12.X and 15 versions
11. Dump & Load databases
12. ASE Installation on UNIX
13. Database Recovery with dump and without dump
14. Performance Tuning (Query & Data)
15. Utility (DDL, BCP & DEFNCOPY)
16. Table/index Maintenance (DOL & APL)
17. Very good at troubleshooting complex problems on replication, RAC, etc
18. Experience with large scale Databases of sizes > 100 TB
19. L3 level expertise in handling DB Replication
20. Basic trouble shooting and architecture knowledge of MYSQL
