Software QA Engineer
at American Power Conversion (India) Pvt. Ltd in Bengaluru/Bangalore
Job Description
This individual will work within the QA lab and also be responsible for executing test procedures along with creating, planning and managing test procedures within the Software QA group. This person will also be responsible for process development and management and managing the full testing life cycle. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - 70%
• Testing 10%
• Planning 10%
• Support 10%
• Process Improvement SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: - Managing Test execution and supporting test creation, planning and management.
• Fully competent in Process Development and Maintenance.
• Full software testing life cycle experience is necessary.
• Must be competent in Windows, Linux/Unix.
• Good basic knowledge of Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Mac OS X.
• Good basic knowledge of Networking(TCP / IP, SNMP) and competent in Hardware.
• Must have good basic knowledge of CMM/ISO, Test Automation and NPD.
• Competent in basic project management.
• Preparation and delivery of basic presentations.
• Design and delivery of basic training.
Desired Profile
This person must have one year Software QA testing experience, experience of working within a software QA laboratory and working with the required systems outlined above. This person must also have basic experience of leading more junior engineers. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: - Computer: Competent in MS Office, Visio and Powerpoint and competent in MS Project. Mental: Strong attention to detail, must be very thorough with excellent analytical ability and criticial intelligence. Must also display enthusiasm for testing and strong organizational skills. Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodology and best general practices. Knowledge of networking environment and protocols (i.e. TCP, SNMP). Setup and configuration of hardware and software test environments. Superior problem solving, technical passion and drive, strong communication and analytical skills Practitioner Software QA Certification. Knowledge of automated testing tools (i.e WinRunner etc). Software skills with high level compiled languages (i.e. C, C++, Java).
Education: UG - B.Tech/B.E. - Computers, Electronics/Telecomunication
PG - Any PG Course - Any Specialization,Post Graduation Not Required
