Designation DTP Manager
Job Description Reporting to the regional managing editor the DTP Manager will be responsible for:
• Day to day management of DTP staff and tasks relating to formatting, producing and distributing research reports. This will include prioritising workflow in co-operation with the managing editor, liaison with the printers and distributors and the production and use of distribution lists, in co-ordination with the editors and subscription desks.
• Ensuring that all reports and presentations follow global house style, are accurately formatted and correctly distributed to all parties.
• Working with the editors to take ownership of work in progress from first arrival to printing and distribution. Providing accurate estimates of time needed and communicating effectively with editors and analysts as required. Working with senior editors to ensure that all reports are signed off by all relevant parties.
• Ensuring that DTP staff are fully trained with work regularly monitored and feedback given.
• Working with analysts to improve existing regular products and ad hoc reports concentrating on client accessibility and accuracy. Ongoing assistance for analysts with product development within GRS.
• Creating and/or sourcing artwork, diagrams and other illustrations for use in reports and presentations.
• Involvement in training editors and other production staff in areas relating to formatting, charting, presentations and use of templates.
• Working with other regional production teams to co-ordinate and produce global or pan-regional documents.
• Providing support to the production teams and working with GRS support relating to the continued use of workarounds in the GRS. These need to be communicated to the production teams, documented and worked on with the GRS development team.
Desired Profile Qualification:
• Knowledge or understanding of the investment banking business.
• Very proficient in word, excel and power point, including formatting in word and advanced charting in excel
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Able to create and add value to power point and other presentations
• Ability to learn new systems and willingness to take part in and lead further training
• Leadership and people management skills
